Giveaway No. 9 // Darling Magazine

Issue-No.-2-Cover

One of my favorite things about being a writer is having the chance to meet interesting people from around the country. This year, I had the great privilege of meeting Natalie Lynn Borton, one of the founding members of the California-based Darling Magazine. This friend-of-a-friend quickly turned into an encouraging editor—someone who’s invited me to be a regular contributor to Darling’s growing stage. Check out what they have going on:

Darling has a daily online blog and a quarterly print publication—both of which are firmly committed to building women up with encouragement, thoughtful reflection, and caring words. What makes Darling different? Well for one, don’t expect photoshopped models, strict diet plans, or 100 things you should buy, like, yesterday. Instead, this publication has is on a mission:

GIVEAWAY:

So for today’s giveaway, I’m excited to offer one Growing Up Gibson reader a copy of Darling’s Winter 2013 issue—144 pages of great thoughts, wisdom, and exceptional writing to enjoy during the season!

TO ENTER:

Head on over to Darling and check out their eight different “personas”; The Intellectual, Stylist, Beautician, Hostess, Dreamer, Achiever, Confidant, and Explorer. In a comment below, tell me which persona (or combination) you think you are. (I think I’m some kind of weird mix of the Achiever, Intellectual, and Confidant)

For more entries leave a comment for doing any of the following:

  • Tweet about this giveaway (include @clairecgibson, @darlingmag, and #12days1story) (one entry)
  • Follow Growing Up Gibson via e-mail (one entry)
  • Follow me and/or Darling on Twitter (one or two entries!)
  • Read up on Longspur, Parts 1 – 9 – we’re almost done!

This giveaway ends at Midnight on December 20, 2012.  Good Luck!

Comments

  1. I love Darling! I can relate to all the personas, but I think I’m a hostess-achiever-explorer.

  2. Can you be two? I’m an explorer-dreamer, for sure.
